Services for Mary McFarlane

Rosary was recited Sunday evening at Peet Chapel for Mrs. Mary McFarlane, a long-time resident of Lusk, who died at her home July 14. Mass was celebrated July 21 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church with Father Bartholomew Svete conducting the service.

Honorary pallbearers were Fay Outhouse, Harry Austin, Elmer Fleming, Henry Lewis, Floyd Deuel, Milton Himes, Judson Watson, Joe Vaughan and Jim Sides.

Pallbearers were Bill Magoon, Orval Allen, Noal Larson, Victor Ireland, Joe Pfister and Kurt Sides. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Mary Ina McFarlane was born May 10, 1907, at Spalding, Neb., the daughter of John M. and Ina A. Wise Kinney. In the spring of 1929 she moved to Lusk with her parents. April 9, 1930 she and Ralph H. McFarlane were married. They made their home in Lusk and were the parents of six children.

Mrs. McFarlane is survived by a daughter, Mrs. James Sides, Casper; three sons, Martin R. currently employed by the U.S. Department of State in Kinshasha, Zaire, Africa, Gary H. and Robert E. both of Lusk; two sisters, Mrs. Levi Shaffer, Casper and Mrs. Henry Lewis, Lusk; a brother Ambrose Kinney, Gardiner, Mont., and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph who died December 16, 1960; two infant daughters, Doris Genevieve and Bonita Ceclia and a sister Mrs. Bernice Nier.

Mrs. McFarlane was a member of St. Leo's Church and a former member and president of the Altar and Rosary Society. She had been in poor health for some time and died of a heart attack.
