Funeral for Mrs. McCormick Held
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Grace McCormick, 87, were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk last Thursday. She died in the Niobrara Memorial Hospital March 19.
Mrs. McCormick, daughter of William and Susan Stewart, was born at Des Moines, Iowa, March 26, 1878. When a small girl, her family moved to Elkton, and later to Flandreau, S. Dak. where she and Martin McCormick were married on November 26, 1898. They were parents of three children, a daughter Virginia, who died in infancy, a son Jesse, and a daughter Margaret.
In 1909, Mrs. and Mrs. McCormick came to Wyoming with the family and homesteaded five miles north of Lusk.
After her husband's death in October 1929, she continued to live at the ranch home with her son until 1950 when she moved to Lusk to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Thon.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lusk, and a Past Noble Grand of Lusk Rebekah Lodge No. 12.
She is survived by her son, Jesse McCormick, her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Thon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
