Two Car Accident Takes Youth's Life
Kirby Oliver Hitshew, 18, of Riverton, died in Bishop Randall Hospital Sunday night from injuries recieved in a two car accident three hours earlier.
Hitshew, driving a 1969 Volkswagon, was south bound on U.S. 287 about five miles south of Lander, when he attempted to pass a car. He apparently did not see the vehical driven by James Gibson Anderson, 44, of Annapolis, Maryland in the north bound lane. Hitshew put on his brakes and slid sideways on the icy road and was hit broadside by the Anderson Vehicle. Anderson was taken to Bishop Randall Hospital where he was treated for a broken finger.
Hitshew was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hitshew of Riverton. Funeral services are pending at the Davis Funeral Home.
