Pauline Martin

A memorial service is being held this Thursday morning at Peet Mortuary Chapel for Pauline (Mrs. Chuck) Martin who died Tuesday at West Nebraska Hospital in Scottsbluff.

Pauline C. Martin was born Oct. 27, 1916, at Logan, Kan., the daughter of Clay and Jane Fix. She attended schools in Kansas and in 1937 moved to Lance Creek where she worked as a waitress and as a clerk at the K & K Market for many years. She was married to Royce Brown. After his death she married Charles O. Martin at Norkato, Kan., on July 14, 1949.

Mrs. Martin was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Lusk; former president of the Gumbo Hustler Extension Club and also had been president of the County Council of Extension Clubs.

Officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service is the Rev. Frank Blish. Phyllis Hahn is organist and Joy Kaltenheuser is singing "Closer Walk With Thee" and "How Great Thou Art."

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday in Logan, Kan., at the Old Cemetery. Walter Howrey will officiate.

Memorials have been established to the Heart Fund.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her first husband, her father and one brother.

She is survived by her husband Charles of Lance Creek, her mother Jane Bailey of Kearney, Neb., and many other relatives and friends.
