Flora B. Bare Dies Monday Evening

Flora Bare died at the Manring Convalescent Home Monday evening, August 22, at 8:30 o'clock, after having been in ill health for the past two years, and was admitted to The Manring Home about two weeks ago.

The greater part of Miss Bare's life had been spent here, having come to Wyoming with her family when two years of age. In 1937 she went to Tacoma Wash., where she stayed for ten years, returning to Lusk about two years ago.

Born at Pine Wood, Colorado, on June 27, 1888, the daughter of Abraham and Mary Bare, the family came to Wyoming in 1890 and located on a homestead northwest of the Rawhide Buttes and a canyon on their place is still known as "Bare Canyon".

She attended the Lusk schools and was employed at various work during the years that she lived here.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Peet Chapel on Friday afternoon, August 26, with the Rev. H.T.Clark officiating. Burial will be made in the family plot in the Lusk Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs, Mamie Root and Mrs. Grace Mashek of Lusk, and two brothers, C. Alfred Rider of Bell Cal. and Frank Rider of Winette, Montana. Mrs. Otto Krekeler of Lusk is a niece.

Services Held for Flora Belle Bare

Funeral services for Flora Belle Bare were conducted from the Peet Chapel on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. H. T. Clark, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.

The singers were Mrs. Edna DeCastro, and Miss Justine Watson and they were accompanied at the chapel organ by Mrs. J.P. Watson. The songs, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "God Be With You," were sung.

The casket bearers were J.W. Wolfe, Wm. D. Miller, R.V. Pfister, Archie Sparks, Z.B. Crinklaw and W.W. Edmondson.

Interment was made in the family plot in the Lusk Cemetery.

Miss Flora Bare was 61 years of age and moved with her family to this section of Wyoming in 1890 and lived here until 1937 when she went to Idaho and Washington, where she worked until her health failed and she returned to Lusk in April, 1948.

She was born June 27, 1888 at Pine Wood, Colo., the daughter of Abraham and Mary Bare. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and three sisters and is survived by two half-brothers, Al Rider of Bell, Calif., and Frank Rider of Winnete, Mont. and two half sisters, Mrs. Grace Mashek and Mrs. Mamie Root, both of Lusk, and two nieces, Mrs. Bertha Krekeler and Mrs. Vernice Blagg, also reside here.
