Della Pearl Parmely McAllister

Funeral services for Della Pearl Parmely McAllister were held Monday Feb. 5, 1996 at 2 p.m. at Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with Rev. Mark Lohr officiating. Della died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1996.

Della was born March 21, 1913 at Spencer Iowa, the third child of Claude Isaac and Sylvia May Green Parmely.

In 1926, Della as a young girl, moved to Wyoming with her family.

Her parents purchased a farm North of Keeline. There, along with her brothers and sisters, she attended the Eddy School. It was there Della finished the eighth grade. In 1928 she entered high school in Lusk. That same year she had to quit school to help in the family home due to her mother's health. The rest of her education was gained by hard work and hard knocks.

In 1935 her parents sold their farm and moved the family to Lusk where her father worked as a carpenter.

Della worked around the area for numerous house wives.

On July 3, 1937, Della married Jim McAllister at the First Baptist Church in Lusk. Jim and Della worked for ranches in the area.

In 1941 they went to work for the Joss Ranches. In 1942 their daughter, Janice, was born. In 1944 Mrs. George Joss passed away leaving two small children, Phil and Sandy. Della took care of these children as well as her own small baby.

Della was very fond of children. Through her life she cared for many small children, which included her grandchildren, Jim and Tonya. She loved her family very much.

The last children she baby sat with were the small children of Jack and Rhonda Pfister, Cally, Lacy and Kaitlyn. She was a grandma to many children in the community.

Della enjoyed working with her crafts until her health interfered.

Survivors include her daughter Janice Elaine and husband Johnny Krein and grandchildren Tonya Krein and James and Karman Krein. One great grandchild Justin Thomas Krein. Three brothers Everett and Glen Parmely of Lusk and Clifford Parmely of Manville. One sister Erma Cox of Torrington.

Preceded in death by husband James McAllister, her parents, and one sister Harriett Parmely Smith.
