Doris Lorenzen Dies Last Thurs. Funeral Was Sat.

Funeral service for Mrs. Doris Lorenzen, 71, was held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peet Chapel. Mrs. Lorenzen died at her home in Lusk last Thursday.

The Rev. Robert Boutwell conducted the service with Mrs. Gerald Bardo as organist. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Mel Merchen, Don Whiteaker, Dale Fullerton, Leonard Fulk, Marvin Davies and Richard Montgomery.

Doris Irene Belden was born March 6, 1902 near Beloit, Kan. She spent her childhood on the family farm and attended rural schools in that area. She spent her college years at Kansas State University and Denver University and then came to Lusk where she taught rural schools and at the Lusk Grade School.

May 29, 1927, she was married to John B. Lorenzen of Lusk. She was always active in community affairs, serving on the school board for many years. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Lusk and belonged to Eastern Star Chapter.

Survivors include her three children, Edward of Riverton, David of Lusk, and Mrs. James (Joan) Winfield of Casper; eight grandchildren and one brother, Bert Belden of Beloit, Kansas. Her husband and one granddaughter, Doris died previously.
