Last Rites Held for Ray Larson
Funeral services for Raymond Andrew Larson, who died in Denver on May 12, were held at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk Friday afternoon at 2:00 with interment in the Lusk Cemetery.
The Rev. Robert Boutwell, pastor of the Congregational Church conducted the service. Pallbearers were Wm. A. Taylor, Wm. Hales, Edmund Cook, F. Everett Brooks, Dan Jordan, and Mason Miller. Honorary bearers were C. E. Marvin, Fred Hansen, Harry Lorenzen, Ray DeGering, Everett Bird, Albert DeGering and Joe Henry. Music was provided by a quartet of Mrs. Carl Peterson, Mrs. Hobart Cockerham, Al Davenport and Harry Lyon with Mrs. A. F. DeCastro being the organist.
Mr. Larson was born at Lusk on January 3, 1897, and spent his early years on his parents' ranch north of Node. He married Grace Catherine Zink on October 13, 1921, and they resided on his homestead 43 miles northeast of Lusk until the death of his wife on August 29, 1965.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Loren (Marjorie) Walker of Harrison and Mrs. John (Betty) McInery of Rapid City; three grandchildren, Dale R. Walker, Jack E. Pfister, Jr. and Patrick R. Pfister; three sisters, Mrs. Sam (Clara) Thomas of Lusk, Mrs. Walter (Cecil) Montgomery, Torrington, and Mrs. Ted (Geneva) McConahey of Borger, Texas. A son Marvin Winten, died previously.
