Mrs. Fred Krei Dies Saturday; Burial Tuesday
Mrs. Fred Elizabeth Carey Krei died at her home in Lusk November 27. Funeral service was held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
The Rev. Robert Boutwell officiated at the service held at the Peet Chapel. Mrs. A. F. DeCastro, organist, accompanied Mrs. Hobart Cockreham and Mrs. Samuel M. Thomas as they sang "Beautiful Isle" and "Beyond the Sunset."
Casket bearers were Martin Glandt, Bert Kaper, Elbert Heine, Richard Ladwig, Fred Sheaman and Enos Lee. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Krei, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Cegledy, was born August 17, 1899, in Budapest Hungary. When she was three the family came to the United States, and after a short time her parents returned to Hungary and Elizabeth remained in this country living in New York City with an aunt. She received her education in New York.
At the age of 25 she moved to Denver, later moving to Akron, Colo., where she met Fred Krei. They were married in Fort Morgan, Colo., on August 26, 1926. After the marriage they moved to his father's farm near Sidney, Neb., where they lived for two years. In 1928 they moved to a ranch two miles north of Manville. In 1968 they moved to Lusk.
She is survived by her husband Fred; one son, Richard of Chicago, Ill.; two grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Bush of Fullerton, Calif., and Anna Hacker of Los Angeles, Calif.; and one nephew, Elmer Bartels, Cheyenne.
