Funeral for Miss Klopfer Held In Lusk Friday

Funeral services for Miss Aline Klopfer, 89, were held from the Peet Chapel in Lusk Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fred E. Grimm of Quincy, Ill., minister of the Apostolic Christian Church officiating. Burial was at the Node cemetery.

Pall bearers were: William Speerly, Paul Pfister, Noal Larson, C. E. Marvin, Eddie Marks and Fred Bruegger.

Singers were Mrs. Maude Bonner, Mrs. Fern Peterson, Denis Culver, and Harry Lyon.

Organist was Mrs. J. P. Watson. Songs were "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me."

Aline Sophia Klopfer was born near Norges, Switzerland November 9, 1873. At the age of seven, when her father died, she came to America to live with an aunt and uncle at Fairbury, Ill. There she grew to womanhood and became a seamstress and mercantile clerk. She returned to her homeland at the age of 19 for a visit to her mother and family.

In 1911, upon the doctor's advice, she came west and homesteaded at Node. She was later joined by her sister, Bertha, her brother Fred and his daughter, Ida, who made their home with her. For many years they made a home for various boys who needed their love and care.

February 27 she died in her home after a short illness. Preceding her in death were her brothers, Henry, Fred and John and sisters, Bertha, Marie and Elise and her niece, Ida.

Surviving her are two nieces, Marguerite Fietz of Lusk and Marie Cartier of Switzerland and a nephew, Pete Germann of Node.

She was a faithful member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
