Services for Arthur Keller held here Friday

Funeral services for Arthur Keller were held at the Peet Chapel Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Bozart in charge. Mrs. Lyle Eddy, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wood and Al Davenport sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Beautiful Isle" with Mrs. A. F. DeCastro as organist. Pallbearers were: Herb Klindt, Richard Pfister, Archie Huey, Orval Allen, Harry Fernau, Sr. and Charles Christian. Honorary bearers were: A. F. DeCastro, Carl Bruch, C. A. David, Edwin Pfister, Chas. Scott, Floyd Fraser, Carl Briscoe and Joe McConaughey. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.

Arthur Keller was the son of George and Gay Keller. He was born March 30, 1908 in Anselma, Nebr. The Keller family came to Lusk in 1912 and, with the exception of those first four years, Arthur Keller was a life-long resident of Lusk. He was graduated from Lusk High School with the class of 1928.

April 2, 1930 Donna Dern and Mr. Keller were married in Hot Springs, S. Dak. Shortly after their marriage Mr. Keller went to work for the Midwest Hardware Co. He worked with the firm until earlier this year when the business changed ownership. Since then he had devoted full time to ranching.

Mr. Keller served in the Army from August 17, 1943 until Dec. 19, 1945, seeing action in New Guinea and the Philippines.

Mr. Keller was secretary-treasurer of the Lusk Volunteer Fire Department, a position that he held as long as any of the present members of the Department can recall. He was a member of the Masonic and B.P.O. Elks Lodges.

Survivors include his widow, Donna and 9 year old son, Kenneth. His parents and a brother, Hubert, died previously.

Art Keller, 53, Dies Here Tues.

Arthur Keller, 53, a resident of Lusk since childhood, died at the Spencer Hospital shortly before midnight Tuesday. He had a stroke November 26 and had been hospitalized since. His death was the result of a second stroke Tuesday night. Funeral services will be held from the Peet Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Keller was born March 30, 1908 in Anselma, Nebr. and came to Lusk with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Keller while still a young boy. For many years he was manager of the Midwest Hardware. More recently he has devoted full time to ranching.

He was a member of Harmony Masonic Lodge and Masonic rites will be conducted at the funeral. For years he was treasurer of the Lusk Volunteer Fire Department.
