Lula I. Kennedy

Services for Lula I. Kennedy, age 62, were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Peet Mortuary Chapel in Lusk with Rev. Scott Grimshaw officiating. Burial followed in the Dell View Cemetery at Manville, Wyoming.

Lula Isabell Kennedy was born July 13, 1926 at Jireh, Wyoming, and entered into rest on March 31, 1989. She was the daughter of Sidney and Verna Baughn. She spent most of her childhood in the Shawnee and Manville areas.

When Lula was 16 years old, she moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and a year later moved to Portland, Oregon, where she worked as a welder in a shipyard during World War II.

Lula married Vernon J. Kennedy on August 10, 1946, in Hot Springs, South Dakota. They lived in Scottsbluff for a short time, and then lived in various parts of Utah, Wyoming and Arizona where Vernon (or Dutch as everyone calls him) worked on highway construction as a carpenter foreman until 1957, when Dutch and Lula bought her grandmother's ranch at Keeline.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Dutch; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Coffee was served afterwards at the Crossroads Caf?.

Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
