Kathryn "Katie" Jassman Jugler

A funeral service for Kathryn "Katie" Jassman Jugler, age 90, of Lusk was held April 17, 2003, at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk, with Pastor Tom Strock of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Kathryn Jugler died at her home in Lusk, April 12, 2003.

She was born Nov. 1, 1912, one of eight children to John and Amelia (Buchholz) Jassman, at their ranch on the Divide northeast of Lusk.

She attended country school through eighth grade.

She married Ernest W. "Jug" Jugler on Feb. 17, 1934, in Hot Springs, S.D. To this union four children were born.

She was a long time member of The First Baptist Church of Lusk. She worked as a waitress at Pop's Diner, XL Cafe and the Silver Spur Lodge.

Upon the death of her husband on Dec.31, 1957, while he was Niobrara County Sheriff, she was appointed as Deputy Sheriff for one year to George Sylvester.

The most important things in her life were her church, family, home and friends.

She is survived by three sons, George, and his wife Pat of Casper, James of Clifton, Colo. Gene and his wife Sheryl of Rock Springs, Wyo., one daughter, Wanda and her husband Don Hundley of Casper, eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Christian "Chris", Harold "Hap", William "Bill' and twin brother John; sisters, Elsie Buchholz, Sophie Klemke, and Emelia Anderson; one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Lusk, Lusk Senior Center in Lusk or a charity of the donor's choice.
