Blanche C. Jordan

Services for Blanche C. Jordan, 85, were Feb. 5, 1997, at the Nativity Catholic Church in Harrison, Neb., with the Reverend Phillipson officiating. A rosary was at the church Feb. 4. Burial was at the Catholic Cemetery in Harrison. Memorials are to the church. She died at the Niobrara Memorial Hospital Feb. 2, after an extended illness.

She was born Aug. 2, 1911, at the family ranch northeast of Harrison, to Dan and Barbara Jordan.

She attended schools in Sioux County, Neb., graduating from Sioux County High School in 1930. She attended Chadron State College and taught school in Sioux County for several years. She then attended and graduated from Parks Business School in Denver and later obtained her degree in accounting by attending night schools.

She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper for various businesses in Denver for 60 years, finally retiring when she was 82.

She enjoyed dancing, bowling, music, reading and attending the theater with her many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles and Allen Jordan; sisters Edna Jordan and Gertrude (Quintard) Harkin.

Survivors include sisters Della Clarke and Dorothy Meier both of Lusk and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bader Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
