Mary Alice Sides
Graveside services for Mary Alice Sides, 85, will be held on May 7 at 1 p.m. at the Lusk Cemetery in Lusk, with Reverend Mark Lohr officiating.
Mrs. Sides died April 29 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas.
She was born June 22, 1918 in VanTassell, the daughter of William and Fay (Porter) Brunkhorst. She was raised on the family homestead 14 miles east of Lusk in the VanTassell community. She attended rural school through the eighth grade, and was one of the five graduating from the only high school graduating class of 1936 in VanTassell. She attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie for her teacher's certification and taught school at six rural schools in Niobrara County.
She was married on March 20, 1943 to Harry A. Sides at Chadron, Neb., and they ranched in the Kirtley area. She loved her yard, garden, and making quilts.
She is survived by her children Connie and Kenny Taylor, Wayne Sides and Marsha Henderson, all of Douglas; a sister Catherine Wilson of Harrison, Neb.; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry in September 1972; two sisters and one brother.
A memorial to the Douglas Senior Citizens Center, PO Box 192, Douglas, WY 82633 would be appreciated by the family.
Gorman Funeral Home-Converse Chapel of Douglas is in charge of the arrangements.
