Con Jordan Dies At Columbus

Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Harrison Catholic Church for Con Jordan, 65, who died Thursday at a Columbus, Neb. hospital. Mr. Jordan had horses in the race meets at Columbus. Father John Dennett officiated, and burial was in the Harrison Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Everett Thomas, J.O. Seaman, Bill Hall, Harry Zimmerman, Herbert Geike and Charles Bourret.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife Evelyn, five children, his mother, five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral for Con Jordan August 18

Funeral services were held in the Catholic Church in Harrison, Monday, Aug. 18, for Con Jordan who died August 8 at Columbus, Neb.

Con was born on December 30, 1903 to Neil and Elizabeth Jordan at their ranch home in northern Sioux County. He lived on the ranch until he turned 24, when he went to Oregon to do construction work. In 1928 he and his brother Henry went to Montana and worked in the oil fields until 1935, at which time he returned to Harrison to manage the home ranch.

Con purchased the Slattery ranch, 14 miles north of Harrison in 1945, which was his home at the time of his death.

He married Evelyn Hoyt of Harrison on March 20, 1947. They had four sons and one daughter.

Horses was one of Connie's greatest interest. He started breeding race horse stock 30 years ago and has raced horses in all of the western states. A number of horses which were bred on Con's ranch are now on the Nebraska race tracks.

Immediate survivors are his wife and children, Darby and Tom of Englewood, Calif., and Mike, John and Doug of Harrison, his mother, and nine brothers and sisters, Charles of Denver, Ellen of Elko, Nev., Henry of Miles City, Mont., Edward of Lingle, Wyo., Trudy of Harrison, William of Bellingham, Wash., Anne of Lusk, Wyo., Margaret of Casper, Wyo., and James of Sierra Madre, Calif.
