Last rites held for Eugene Allen

Funeral services were held May 5 at 2:00p.m. for Eugene Allen, 33, of Spokane, Wash., who drowned May 1 in Newman Lake near Spokane. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orval Allen of Lusk.

Services were held from the chapel of Flowers, Riplinger Funeral home in Spokane, with the Rev. Raymond Moody officiating. Interment was in the Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Allen was in a boat along with seven other persons when the boat capsized and sank near Muzzy's resort at Newman Lake. Five of the eight survived. Mr. Allen's body was discovered the next day.

He was born in Royal, Nebr., April 22, 1934. He graduated from Lusk high school in 1952 and married Barbara Everest of Spokane, June 20, 1957.

Mr. Allen served 11 years with the Air Force and was presently employed as a real estate salesman. He belonged to the Manito Presbyterian Church, Spokane Board of Realtors and Real Estate Traders Club.

Survivors include his widow, Barbara, a daughter, Sheila Rae, a son, Kenneth L., all of the home in Spokane; his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Orval Allen, a sister, Cynthia Allen, a brother, Lonald Allen, an aunt, Mrs. Helen Magoon, all of Lusk, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Allen of Bremerton.
