Mrs. Jack Dies Saturday After Attack Here
Mrs. William M. (Huldah) Jack, 76, died shortly after noon Saturday in Casper after a massive heart attack about 9:15 that morning at the Robert Darrow ranch south of Lusk.
Mrs. Jack had come to the ranch from her Casper home to be with her daughters. Miss Phyllis Jack of San Mateo, Calif. was visiting her sister, Mrs. Darrow, over the Memorial Day weekend.
The family, friends and neighbors had gathered in preparation for branding this year's calf crop. Friends and neighbors completed the branding after Mrs. Jack was rushed to Casper in the Lusk-Niobrara Ambulance.
Mrs. Jack was the widow of William M. (Scotty) Jack, one of Wyoming's better known men. Mr. Jack died April 14, 1970.
Funeral services are being conducted this Wednesday afternoon at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Casper with Rev. Arch Hewitt officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
She was born June 2, 1893 in Pocatello, Idaho. She married William Jack June 1, 1920, in Lusk.
Mrs. Jack was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Cheyenne, Daughters of the Nile, Tamah Temple No. 73 in Cheyenne, and Mizpah Chapter No. 36, OES, of Cheyenne.
Survivors include a son William M. Jack Jr., Casper; the two daughters; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Long, Mrs. Dorothea Cockrell, both of Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Phillip Thompson, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Howard Thompson, Deer Lodge, Mont., Leon Thompson, Idaho; five granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.
