Neil John Jordan

Funeral services for Neil John Jordan, 20, will be held Thursday, June 8, 1995, at 10 a.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel in Douglas with Pastor Ron Blain or the Restoration Fellowship Non-Denominational Church officiating. A Vigil for Deceased will be held Wednesday, June 7, 1995, at 7:00 p.m. at the Converse Funeral Chapel with Father George Reynolds of Saint Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock as the leader. Interment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Jordon died at the emergency room at the Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas following injuries he received in an automobile accident on Saturday, June 3, 1995. He was born August 6, 1974 in Lusk, the son of Stephen and Vickie (Smith) Jordan. He attended kindergarten and first grade in Glenrock, and second thru twelfth grade in Douglas, graduating from the Douglas High School in May, 1992. He attended and received a mechanic's certificate from Wyoming Technical Institute in Laramie. He returned to Douglas and worked for C & R Repairs, and Plains Tire Company. In April, 1995 he moved to Casper, and worked for Plains Tire Company there. He was married to Linda Vroman on May 28, 1994 at Washington Park in Douglas. In high school he was active with wrestling, placing twice at the state tournament, and he won the state competition for the Chrysler Trouble Shooting, and went on to compete at the national competition. He enjoyed his mechanic work and car racing.

He is survived by his wife, Linda of Casper; his daughter, Paige Jordan of Casper; his parents, Steve and Vickie Jordan of Douglas; one brother, Keith Jordan of Douglas; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Pat Smith of Lusk; paternal grandfather, Robert Jordan of Harrison, Neb.; maternal great-grandparents, Bess and Jennings Ruffing and Violet Smith all of Lusk; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Rosalie Vroman of Douglas; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Eldeene Jordan.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Dan Jordan, Pat Jordan, Jim Jordan, Jeff White, Carl Vroman, and Jim Lola. Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be James Martinez, Ken Reeves, John Marshal, and all of Neil's friends from Douglas.

A Neil J. Jordan Scholarship Memorial Fund has been started for his daughter in care of Converse County Bank, PO Box 689, Douglas, Wyo. 82633. Donations would be appreciated by the family. The Converse Funeral Chapel of Douglas is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7p.m.
