Meredith Ann Eberspecher Johnson

Meredith Ann Eberspecher Johnson, age 69, of Sunset, Utah passed away on Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 at her home in Sunset.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk. Interment will follow in the Lusk Cemetery.

Meredith Ann Johnson, age 69, formerly of the Lusk and Manville area, of Sunset, Utah died on Sept. 6 at her home in Sunset. a funeral service was scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday Sept. 11, 2004 at the Cicmanec-Pier Funeral Home in Lusk with Reverend Juanita Gillies officiating. Interment followed in the Lusk Cemetery.

Meredith Ann Eberspecher was born on May 1, 1935 to Theodore and Rachael Duncan Eberspecher in Douglas, Wyoming. The first experience of life was spent on a homestead north of Douglas. The family moved to Glenrock when Meredith was six so she could go to school. She graduated from high school at Manville with the class of 1953. Meredith married Roderick Leroy Johnson on Sept. 17, 1955 in Rapid City, S. D.

Rod was in the military many years while Meredith raised the children in Sunset, Utah.

There were many things Meredith enjoyed doing throughout her life. She enjoyed working and her first job was at the Candy Coop in Douglas. From there she worked in a drugstore in Lusk and later as a Steno clerk for the Continental Oil in Lance Creek, Wyoming. After moving to Utah she worked at the Salt Lake Air Terminal for many years. Wanting a business of her own, she opened her home to working others and ran a daycare for many years.

Meredith enjoyed football and basketball. Her favorite team was the Utah Jazz. She would embroidery, liked to read books about history and was interested in politics. She enjoyed her yard meticulous.

Meredith totally enjoyed her children and when the grandchildren started coming along they were the love of her life. She took them on trips with her and never stopped bragging about them. At the time of her death she was happily anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild.

Her parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband Rod Johnson; two daughters, Rhonda Johnson of Sunset, Utah and Tammy Solars of Billings, Mont.; four grandchildren, Shannon Compana, Daniel Solars, Sara Solars and Brook Andrews; three sisters, Teddie Lou Ellis of Moorcroft, Lynna Faye Engebretsen of Douglas, and Gail Hass of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established to Converse County Coalition Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault, 126 North 5th, Douglas, Wyoming 82633.
