Maurine C. Johnson

Funeral services for Maurine C. Johnson, 77, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 1992, at the United Presbyterian Church in Guernsey, Wyo., with Arlo Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Guernsey. Memorial gifts to the family would by appreciated. Johnson died at Community Hospital in Torrington on Nov. 2, 1992.

She was born June 15, 1915, at Alliance, Neb., the daughter of Ewart and Olga (Christensen) Hughes. She attended school at Flattop, Wyo. She married Elmer A. Johnson on June 28, 1938 at Harrison, Neb., and they settled on the Johnson Ranch at Meadowdale, Wyo.

She is survived by her husband, Elmer, of Glendo; two sons, PeeWee of Lusk, Wyo. and Lyle of Meadowdale; a daughter, Gwen McIntosh of Torrington; one brother, Edward Hughes of Flattop (Keeline); a foster brother, Lyle "Mick" Smathers of Glendo; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and three nephews.

Friends may call at The Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. The casket will be closed at the service.
