Chris Holmgren Dies; Service In Crawford
Jess Christian (Chris) Holmgren, 16, died at the University hospital in Omaha September 13.
Rosary services were held at 8:00 p.m. September 15 at St. John's Catholic Church, Crawford. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. September 16 with Father Robert O'Neill officiating. Mrs. Louise Serres, organist, accompanied Mrs. Virginia Coffee in "Take My Hand Precious Lord", "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Old Rugged Cross".
Casket bearers were Bob Reynoldson, Gary Mack, Joe Grimm, J. D. Hamaker, Faye Hughes, and Jack Hanks. Burial was in the Crawford Cemetery. The Houston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Chris Holmgren was born in Lusk December 20, 1954. He attended school in Dawes County and was a member of the Junior Class of Crawford at the time of his death. He was active in football, wrestling, rodeoing and hunting.
Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. Alan Holmgren, one sister, Mrs. Larry Wickersham, Chadron, two brothers Chuck and Casey of the family home, maternal grandmother, Mrs. Katherine Eberspecher of Harrison and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Holmgren, Scottsbluff.
