Funeral for Mrs. Himes Thursday

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Alma Helen Himes, 70, last Thursday afternoon at the Peet Chapel in Lusk. Mrs. Himes died at the Natrona Memorial Hospital in Casper, August 1. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

The Rev. Harold Brink of the Open Bible Church officiated at the services.

Mrs. A. F. DeCastro and Mrs. Dean Glandt, accompanied by Mrs. J. P. Watson on the organ sang "The Old Rugged Cross", "Rock of Ages", and "Beyond the Sunset".

Casket bearers were: John Goddard, Ray Taylor, Leonard DeGering, Wayne Dainton, Ed Boner and William Hales.

Alma Helen Hitz was born at Hosmer, S. Dak., July 4, 1897, to Herman and Marie Hitz. She moved to Wyoming in 1909 with her parents and family, making their home on a ranch six miles north of Lusk.

As a young woman she homesteaded in the Hat Creek community where she met and married Emerson Himes, June 19, 1927. They were the parents of two children.

She made her home on the ranch at Hat Creek until their retirement several years ago, moving into Lusk where she has resided since.

As an infant she was baptized in the Lutheran Church at Hosmer.

Her husband, parents, three brothers and five sisters died previously.

Survivors include one son, Milton of Lusk; a daughter, Myrna Golden, Scottsbluff; one brother Walter Hitz, and a sister Margaret Hitz, both of Lusk; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
