Last rites held for Raymond Hill
Funeral service for Raymond Frederick Hill was held February 13 at the United Methodist Church at Harrison, and burial was in the Bodarc Cemetery in the area where he was born. He had died at Columbus, Neb., on February 9.
The Rev. Wayne Tiezen, pastor of the church, officiated. Pallbearers were nephews, Thomas, James, Robert, Dennis and David Hill and David (Bud) Corbin.
Mr. Hill was born at Bodarc on November 4, 1902, where he grew up and attended school.
He worked in this area before and after he enlisted in the Army during World War I. He moved to Wyoming and was engaged in earth moving and construction, later becoming the owner of his own business. They moved from Douglas, Wyo. to Platte Center, Neb. in 1960. He married Peggy Gleason, and they became the parents of seven children. Three daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Carol) Topil, of Rising City, Neb., Mrs. Jerome (Polly) Jaworski, of Hastings, Neb., and Trudy Kay of the home; four sons Albert, of Riverton, Wyo., Patrick, presently attending college at Kearney, Neb., Jesse, at home commuting to Platte Valley College at Columbus, Neb., and Jay Dee at Home.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, his children, three sisters, one brother Clyde of Harrison, and four grandchildren. His sisters all of Crawford are Mrs. Frances DeHaven, Mrs. Orvin (Leona) Corbin, Mrs. Jacob Hymer (Irene). He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elizabeth, and Mrs. Burt (Bernice) Anderson, four brothers, Robert, Arthur, Edward, and Clarence.
Memorials may be made at the Sioux National Bank at Harrison to the Heart and Lung programs.
