Mrs. Fitzwater Dies Last Wed. Funeral Monday

Funeral service was held Monday at 10:00 a. m. at St. George's Episcopal Church for Mrs. Ralph (Dorothy Griffith) Fitzwater, 66, who died in Niobrara Memorial Hospital March 1.

The Rev. Ron Sims, Torrington, officiated at the services with burial in the Lusk Cemetery. Organist was Mrs. Minerva Watson. The Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were James, Darrell, William, Michael, Harry, and Ralph Fitzwater Jr.

Mrs. Fitzwater had been hospitalized for six weeks following a heart attack and death was attributed to heart failure.

She was born April 1, 1905, in Indianapolis, Ind. to James B. Griffith, Sr. and Myrtle Woodyard Griffith. She lived for a time in Casper while her father was editor of the Casper Tribune.

In 1934 she married Ray Vaughn and lived many years in Bowling Green, Ohio. She married Ralph Fitzwater in Angola, Ind., in 1962 and after two years in Tucson, Ariz., the family moved to Lusk to make their home.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Jamie Hughes, hospitalized in Apple Creek, Ohio, 11 step-children, James and William, Bowling Green, Ohio, Darrell, Richard, Ralph Jr., stationed with the Coast Guard in Puerto Rico, Michael, Harry, Lusk and Sally, Kathy, Cindy and Vickie of the family home; 8 step-grandchildren; her step-mother; Mrs. James B. Griffith Sr., Youngstown, Ariz.; one sister Mrs. Mary Bruner, Washington, D. C.; one half-brother, James B. Griffith Jr. and two step-sisters Mrs. Lyle M. Tysor, Cheyenne and Mrs. Robert Canady, Long Beach, Calif.
