Glen Edward (Punk) Fitch

Glen Edward (Punk) Fitch was born February 20, 1916 to C Glenn and Mary Sutherland Fitch in Gillette, Wyoming. He passed away on May 17, 2001 at the West Nebraska Regional Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Punk married Leona DeCoursey in 1932. They were the parents of two sons, Douglas Glenn and Gary Keith.

In 1944 he married Jane Coffee of Harrison, Nebraska. They were the parent of two daughters, Mardell Jane and Nancy Ann and one son John Charles.

On March 31, 1961 Punk was married to Marcella Henry of Harrison.

Punk served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corp in the European theater during World War II. He ranched in Gillette, Wyoming and was well known and liked in the communities of Gillette and Harrison. For many years he operated the Sioux Sundries and the bowling alley in Harrison. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Marcella, a son Douglas of Gillette, Wyoming, one stepson Philip Henry of Harrison two daughters Mardell Olson of Becker, Minnesota and Nancy Winterheimer of Tigard, Oregon, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brother Fred Fitch of Torrington, Wyoming and a sister Phoebe Ann Gilgoren of Sheridan, Wyoming also survive him.

Punk was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Gary and John, and a sister Mary Gay Barkley.

A memorial service was held at the United Methodist Church on June 4, 2001 with C Robert Todd officiating. Dorothy Todd, organist and Mary Bell and Loreta Hanley vocalists, provided music. Interment was at the Harrison cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or the Harrison Volunteer Fire Department, which can be sent to the Security First Bank in Harrison.
