Last Rites Held For David Hebner

Funeral service was held March 2 for David Hebner, 63, at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Harrison. Mr. Hebner died at Hawthorne, Nev., February 25 after a short illness.

The Rev. Larry Shrout officiated at the service with Mrs. Robert Todd as organist. A quartet composed of Mrs. Allen Grimm, Mrs. John Skavdahl, Mrs. Louise Serres, Mrs. Charles Mumby sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop."

Honorary pallbearers were Orville Dryer, George Walker, Ord Anstey, Rude Geike, Walt Warren, Ollie Seaman, John Hammond and Lou Anderson.

Casket bearers were John Broderick, John Bourret, Adolph Zurcher, Bunny Chard, George Herren and Dick Tollman. Interment was in the Harrison Cemetery. The Peet Mortuary of Lusk was in charge of arrangements.

David Walter Hebner was born February 6, 1910, at Harrison and attended schools in Sioux County, graduating from high school with the class of 1928.

Mr. Hebner was in the ranching business much of his life and in recent years was employed in mining. He joined church recently in Gabbs, Nev., where he was employed. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and wrote quite a bit of poetry over the years.

His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick W. Hebner, died previously. Survivors include brothers and sisters, William Hebner, Milwaukee; Margaret Lewis, Torrington; Daniel Hebner, Harrison; Rose Lewis, Van Tassell; Katherine Knight, Riverside, Calif.; Louise Snook, Chadron; Benjamin Hebner, Wheelersburg, Ohio.

A nephew, Benny Hebner of Ohio, has worked with Mr. Hebner the past several months and was with him during his illness and at the time of his death.

Relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lewis, Torrington, Dan Hebner, Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lewis, Van Tassell, Mrs. Duane Canfield, Casper, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Snook, Chadron, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hebner, Benny Jr. and Jennifer, Wheelersburg, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lewis, Patricia and Wayne, Van Tassell, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lewis, Casper, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lewis, Brian, Mike and Lori of Torrington, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Swartzkopf of Torrington.
