Mrs. Greene, 79, Dies Thursday
Florence Greene, 79, died Thursday, May 14, at a Torrington Hospital, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were conducted from the Peet Chapel Monday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Boutwell officiating. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Mrs. Hobart Cockerham, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Gerald Bardo, organist, sung "The Lord's Prayer" and "How Great Thou Art."
Casket bearers were Jack Anderson, George Mordock, Dick David, Andrew McMaster, Robert Black and Robert Templeton.
She was born August 6, 1891, at Hampton, Neb., to Edward and Cora Hutsell. She attended schools and grew to womanhood in the Hampton area.
June 27, 1923, she married Edger Greene at North Platte, Neb. They soon moved to Wyoming where they homesteaded near Newcastle. In 1935 they moved to Lusk where they lived since except for a short time at the Gas Hills area.
She was a member of the Congregational Church, Congregational Church Circle, Hospital Auxiliary, and the Niobrara Historical Society.
Her parents, husband, one brother, and one sister died previously.
Survivors include her son Robert and daughter-in-law, Woosin Greene of Seoul, Korea; two grandchildren; one brother, Jonas Hutsell of Oregon; and one sister, Carey Miller of Greeley, Colo.
Mr. and Mrs. Greene attended the services. Mr. Greene is a civil engineer and at the present is working for the Zurn Construction Co. His company works all over South Korea, at air bases, army bases and where ever they are needed. Mr. Greene has been in Korea for the past five years. The Greenes have two children, but did not bring them to the states. They plan to return this weekend.
