Lyman D. Hargraves
Memorial services for Lyman D. Hargraves, 75, of Casper, were held Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Bethel Baptist Church in Casper. The Rev. David B. Hammer officiated. Cremation has taken place.
Mr. Hargraves, who died Feb. 8, 1986, in Casper after a lengthy illness, was born Oct. 18, 1910, in Lusk, where he grew up and graduated from high school. In 1929 he went to work in the oil exploration business and had worked for most of the major oil companies in the Rocky Mountain area.
He married Olive E. Hargrove in 1936 in Scottsbluff, Neb., and the couple lived in Lance Creek and Worland before moving to Casper in 1968. He retired from Christenson Diamond Bit Products in 1972 after 20 years with that company.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Bruce Hargraves of Casper; one daughter, Deann Alonzo of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Gordon of Story; two sisters-in-law and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association.
Arrangements were by Bustard's Funeral Home.
