Graveside funeral services for a Greybull resident were held Nov. 16, 2005, at the Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis, with full military graveside rites. He was laid to rest following the services.
Keith P. Gamble passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the South Big Horn County Critical Access Hospital between Greybull and Basin just three days short of his 75th birthday.
Keith was born in Diamondville, on Nov. 15, 1930, to Blaine Irving and Allison (Kirkwood) Gamble. He had one sister, Bernice, and one brother, Roy.
Keith joined the U. S. Navy in 1948, where he served in the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Fort Marion until being honorably discharged in 1952. Having trained as an electrician in the Navy, Keith worked first as a technician and later as a manager for U. S. West. He retired after 38 years of services in 1991, while living in Jackson.
In 1952, he married his wife, Beverly Julian. Together they raised three sons, Ryan, Glen and Fred.
Keith greatly enjoyed his grandchildren. He was a husband, father, grandfather, outdoorsman, veteran, community activist, and most of all, a philanthropist. He will be greatly missed.
His parents and his brother, Roy, preceded him in death.
Keith is survived by his wife, Beverly of Greybull; three sons, Ryan of Basin; Glen and Fred, both of Riverton; eight grandchildren; and his sister Bernice Thomas of LaBarge.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the Bank of Greybull, 601 Greybull Ave., Greybull, WY 82426, with proceeds of the fund to go to the Lion's Club International Blind Camp. Keith was a lifelong member of the Lion's Club, and this cause would make him proud.
