Ferdinand Giedd
Former Lusk area farmer and businessman Ferninand Giedd of Casper died Dec. 22, 1985, at Memorial Hospital of Natrona County following a long illness. He was 91.
Mr. Giedd was born Aug. 24, 1894, in Tyndall, S. D., the son of John and Selena Buchholz Giedd. He was the eldest of 10 children.
He married Tillie Boettcher in Delmont, S.D, Aug. 5, 1923. They farmed and homesteaded near Lusk in 1924. From 1938 to 1941, he owned and operated a barbershop in Lusk. He also owned and operated Tillie's Laundry. In 1941, he moved to Cheyenne, where he was a barber and owned his own barbershop for a time. He retired in 1964.
He is survived by a daughter, Adeline Murray of Casper; a brother Ben Giedd of Pahrump, Nev.; two sisters, Ida Dean of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; and Emma Hollon of Lusk, and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, in December 1984, four brothers and two sisters.
The Rev. Dwayne Axworthy officiated at funeral services Thursday at Memorial Chapel in Casper. Graveside services were held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cheyenne.
