Services for Mary Eleanor Germann, 75, were held Saturday, January 2, 1999 at the Bader Funeral Home in Lusk with the Rev. Delbert Dick officiating. Visitation was 2-8 p.m. on Friday. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
She passed away December 30, 1998 at the Niobrara County Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
She was born May 16, 1923 in Jireh, Wyoming to George and Delia Grant. She graduated from Manville High School and attended the University of Wyoming.
She married Pete Germann of Node October 9, 1943 and they made their home for most of their marriage in Node.
She taught school in rural Wyoming for several years and served as Postmaster of the Node Post Office for 40 years.
She was a member of the Lusk Baptist Church and attended the Node Sunday School.
She was also active in the Garden Club and Node Homemakers Club. She loved gardening and reading, and cherished her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Pete, of Node; two daughters Claudia Bartow of Lusk and Georgia Shoults of Van Tassell; sons John of Belvue, Colorado and Clark of Arvada, Colorado; two sisters, Frances Nichols of Molina, Colorado and Claudia Dalton of Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Lusk Nursing Home, Lusk Ambulance Fund, or Senior Center.
