Miss Rebecca Gorsuch passes on at Douglas hospital ; burial here
Miss Rebecca Gorsuch, for many years a resident of this county, and who was well known in the northern section, passed away at the Douglas hospital about 7:30 o'clock this Thursday morning. She was a victim of diabetes, and had been confined to the hospital for the past two weeks.
Miss Gorsuch served in the employ of Marcus Nelson, prominent rancher, for many years as housekeeper. When he moved to his ranch near Douglas, she took up her duties there, remaining with her long-time employer until illness forced her to seek hospital care.
Deceased in survived by two nieces, Mrs. Jack McFarlane of the Lance Creek vicinity and Mrs. Roy Moss, of Crawford, Nebr. No information is available as we go to press regarding other relatives.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Midwest mortuary, M. D. Barnes directing Mr. Barnes and Mr. Huston of Crawford were called to Douglas this morning to remove the remains to this city, where funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Midwest funeral parlors.

Funeral Services For Miss Rebecca Gorsuch Held Here On Sunday
Funeral services for Miss Rebecca Gorsuch, who passed away Thursday, December 17th at the Douglas hospital, following a brief illness, were held at 2 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, December 20th, from the Midwest funeral parlors. Rev. Edwin F. Irwin, pastor of the Congregational church, officiated. Interment was made in the Lusk cemetery.
Rebecca Gorsuch was born in Pennsylvania in the year, 1860. In 1905 she came to Colorado and in 1918 she moved into Wyoming, taking up a homestead in the northern part of Niobrara county.
In late years she had acted as housekeeper for Marcus Nelson, first near Lance Creek and later at Douglas. It was at the latter town that she passed away on Thursday, December 17th, at the age of 71 years.
From childhood she had been a member of the Methodist church.
She leaves one brother, I. N. Gorsuch, of Mill Creek, Penn.; two sisters, Mrs. Mert Couzins and Mrs. Albert Witmer, of Philadelphia, Penn.; two nieces, Mrs. Jack McFarlane, of Lance Creek and Mrs. Roy Moss, of Crawford, Nebr.
