Viola Fancher

Services for Viola Fancher, age 80, were held at Monday, Oct. 25, 1993, in the Bader-Peet Mortuary in Lusk with Rev. Mark Lohr officiating. Burial was in the Lusk cemetery.

Viola died Wednesday, Oct. 20, at the Niobrara County Hospital in Lusk. She was born August 18, 1913, in Sunrise, Wyo., the daughter of Ernest and Hattie Robertson. After graduation from Sunrise High School, she took courses in Normal Training, certifying her to teach in country schools. Viola taught in Platte and Niobrara counties for twenty years.

On April 21, 1934, she married Bob Fancher of Kirtley at Hot Springs, S.D. Bob and Viola lived on their ranch near Kirtley until 1979 when they moved to Lusk.

Viola's activities included the Mountain Valley Rebekah Lodge #15, the Does Auxiliary, Past Presidents of the Does, Indian Creek Homemakers, the 16 Couple Pinochle Club, Marathon Pinochle Club and served on the Senior Citizen's Board in Lusk during the years of 1991 through 1993.

Survivors include her husband Bob (Frank) Fancher, brother Warren Robertson both of Lusk and many relatives, friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Clyde Robertson.

Memorials may be made to the Niobrara Senior Center or the Lusk Ambulance Service.

Bader-Peet Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
