Harry Fahy, 85, Dies Saturday in Scottsbluff
Harry Fahy, 85, long-time resident of Platte and Niobrara Counties, died May 1 at St Mary Hospital in Scottsbluff, following an illness of several weeks. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Lusk, with Peet mortuary in charge. The Rev. T. McGovern officiated. Rosary services were held at the Peet Mortuary Monday at 8:00 p.m. Burial was in the Lusk Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Elmer Johnson, Edward Hughes, Gilbert Hughes, all of the Flattop community; Dick Lee of Lusk; Lloyd Tschacher and Don Brooks of Manville.
John Henry Fahy was born May 7, 1885, at Oregon, Wisc., to Patrick and Ann Mulligan Fahy. When he was two years old the family moved to St. Libory, Neb., where he attended school during his childhood. As a young man he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad out of Cheyenne. He returned to St. Libory where he married Miss Rosa Gebheart in 1907. They were the parents of one daughter. The family came to Wyoming in 1914 and homesteaded in the Flattop area. Following the death of Mrs. Fahy in 1927, Mr. Fahy and daughter moved to Sunrise for four years where he was employed by the C.F.&L.Corporation.
He returned to Flattop and was employed by the Black Ranch for 10 years. He married Miss Winona Blackmore of Flattop June 16, 1934 at Lusk. They were the parents of one son. The couple lived on the Blackmore ranch for a number of years and moved to Lusk in 1965, where they have since made their home. Survivors are his widow Winona, daughter, Mrs. L. R (Anna) Peterson, Fairfield, Wash.; son, John L. Fahy of Lusk; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers and one sister died previously.
