Last Rites for Margaret Dunn

Mrs. Margaret Jane Hunter Dunn, 85, died January 10 at Norfolk, Nebr., following a long illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Harrison, January 14, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Kenneth Moreland of Edgemont officiating.

Music was furnished by Miss Lilly Larsen, Mrs. Ted King, Mrs. Stanley Thomas and Mrs. Charles Mumby, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Todd, organist.

Casket bearers were Jack Hunter Jr., Dean Hunter, Bunny Chard, Reg Christman, Rudy Hartman and Dan Jordan. Burial was in the Bodarc Cemetery north of Harrison.

She was the second child of John W. and Margaret Hunter, born in Nova Scotia March 24, 1881. In 1885 the family moved across the Dakota's in a covered wagon settling in the Hat Creek area near Bodarc.

At the age of 16 Margaret started teaching school. Later she received her degreee from Chadron State Teacher's College. She taught school in the Dakota's, Nebraska and Wyoming.

In 1902 she was married to Martin Carroll and they were the parents of two sons, Michael Joseph and John William. In 1937 she was married to Joe Dunn. They lived a number of years in Glenrock. Because of their love for children, they kept their home open to many under the Foster Parent Plan.

Her two sons, her husband, Joe Dunn, a sister, Oressa Jordan and a brother William Hunter died previously.

She is survived by two brothers, Jack Hunter Sr. of Ardmore; Tom Hunter of Casper; three sisters, Mabel Jordan of Miles City, Mont., Abbie Orcutt of Holyoke, Colo., and Myrtle Points of Rushville, Nebr.
