Addison J. Diehl
Former Manville Resident Dies in California
Funeral service for Addison J. Diehl, 76, was held January 2 in Huntington Park, Calif. Mr. Diehl died December 29 in St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood, Calif.
The service conducted by the Rev. John D. Robinson of the First United Methodist Church was held at the Halverson-Luce Mortuary with burial in the Inglewood Park Cemetery.
Mr. Diehl was born March 14, 1896, at Newry, Penn., moving to California as a youth. He later engaged in the oil industry as driller and contractor in California and the Rocky Mountain areas. The Diehls lived in Manville for some time, and Mr. Diehl worked at Lance Creek.
He was a veteran of World War I and was active in the Huntington Park veteran's organization until the time of his sudden death.
Survivors include a son, Robert J. of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two sisters, Miss Dorothy D. Diehl and Mrs. Helen D. McFarland, Huntington Park. Three brothers, Robert N., Richard M. and Fred A. Diehl, and a sister Romayne Daugherty, died previously.
