Dawson Funeral Held Thursday
Funeral services for Calvin B. (Charles) Dawson, 79, were held from the Bullock Colonial Chapel in Englewood, Colo., last Thursday with Chaplin Barton of the Veterans Administration Hospital of Denver officiating. Mr. Dawson died of a heart condition December 17 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Denver.
Burial was in the Fort Logan National Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Dawson was born November 17, 1886, in West Virginia and educated in the schools there. In 1910, he homesteaded near Karval, Colo., and lived many years in the Denver area. He served in the Army in World War I. In 1919, he moved to Casper and later to Cody. During World War II he worked on several government projects and returned to Denver in 1952. In 1957 he and Mrs. Dawson moved to Manville where they operated the Manville Grocery.
Besides his widow, Anna, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Betty Lois Learned of Denver and Mrs. Dorothy E. Neal of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Draper of Englewood, Colo., and Mrs. Victoria Bucklen of Pueblo, Colo.; and four grandsons.
