Private graveside service for Doyle D. Dudney, former teacher and coach in the Lusk schools, was held Monday afternoon at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
The Rev. William Schafer officiated.
Mr. Dudney died March 11 at his home in Torrington.
Born May 2, 1923, at Murray, Iowa, he was the son of Dewey Dudney and Faye Wilson Dudney. The family moved to Wyoming when he was an infant and he was reared and educated in Torrington. He was a graduate of the Chadron State Teachers College at Chadron, Neb. and the University of Wyoming.
He married Gail Schwanz on July 5, 1947, at Chadron.
Mr. Dudney taught school and coached at Lusk for 10 years and moved to Cheyenne in 1961, where he was associated with the Horace Mann Insurance Co. for 23 years. He returned to Torrington in 1980.
Mr. Dudney was a World War II Navy veteran and had served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Cheyenne Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.
Besides his widow of Torrington, he is survived by a brother, Charles Dudney of Bell Port, N.Y.; two half-brothers, Rex D. Frye of Cheyenne and Neil Frye of Laramie; and a sister, Mrs. Enid Thompson of Torrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The Sutley Funeral Chapel of Torrington was in charge of arrangements.
