John A. Davis Dies April 22
John A. Davis, 68, died at his home in Gering, the morning of April 22.
Mr. Davis was born June 16, 1898 at Westerville, Nebr. He later moved with his parents to Plain Field, Wisc., where he received his education. He married Ada Pringle, on December 21, 1921 at Broken Bow, Nebr.
He and his family moved to Gering in 1937, where he worked with the Scotts Bluff County maintenance crew, was superintendent of maintenance at the prisoner of war camp at Scottsbluff, and then became financial representative for the Nebraska Children's Home at Omaha, a position he had held for 18 years. It is in this capacity that he was so well known to Sioux county residents. Early each year he called on friends in Sioux County in the interest of the Nebraska Children's Home.
He is survived by his widow, one son, one daughter, a brother, a sister, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
