Mrs. Darnall Dies August 12 in Scottsbluff
Mrs. Glenn (Besse Irene) Darnall, 72, Lusk, formerly of Fort Laramie, Wyo., died Wednesday Aug. 12, at a Scottsbluff, Neb., hospital, following a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at Fort Laramie at the Community Presbyterian Church at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. David March officiated. Burial was in the Fort Laramie Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Roger Darnall, Wayne Darnall, Herbert Pomeroy, Howard Haworth, Charles Scott and Ronald Darnall.
Arrangements were made by the Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington.
She was born near Lincoln, Neb., July 24, 1898, the daughter of William H. and Elizabeth Grant Chapman, and grew up in that area. On January 1, 1919, she married Glenn J. Darnall of Seward, Neb.
The family came to the Fort Laramie community in 1919 and lived there until they moved to Lusk in 1946. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Fort Laramie, and belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Northside Newcomers Club of Lusk.
She is survived by her widower Glenn; three sons, Harold of Newcastle, Lloyd of Gillette, and Robert of Great Falls, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. Art Darnall and Mrs. Ethel Smith, both of Fort Laramie; two brothers, Wilbur Chapman of Rawlins, Wyo., and John Chapman of Rensselaer, Ind.; several grand children and five great-grandchildren.
