Funeral services for Ryan C. Donaldson, 13, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Crouch Auditorium by Pastor Mick Bohn. Burial followed at the Greenwood Cemetery.
Ryan died July 5, 1993 at the Deaconess Hospital in Billing, Mont., following injuries he received in a roping accident in Gillette on July 4th.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1979 in Bakersfield, Calif., the son of Collen (Healey) and R. C. Donaldson Jr. He moved to Newcastle at the age of seven months, and would have been in the seventh grade at Newcastle Middle School.
A member of the U.S. Team Roping Commission, Ryan had won numerous roping events. He enjoyed fishing, was an active Denver Bronco Fan and attended the Newcastle Foursquare Church.
Survivors, all of Newcastle, include his parents; one brother, Riley C. Donaldson; and his great-grandparents, Vi and Francis Sedgwick.
Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Norman and Theresa Healey of Bakersfield, Calif.; and his paternal grandmother, Susan Kerr of Fresno, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather.
A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be left at Worden Funeral Directors, which is in charge of arrangements.
