Robert Chris Dorn, age 71, of Wheatland, died April 5, 1995, in Cheyenne. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Dorn was born January 22, 1924, in Denver, Colo., to Chris and Millie Schaeffer Dorn. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1942, and was a Merchant Marine during World War II. Mr. Dorn spent most of life in Wyoming, although he grew up in Eastern Colorado and lived in Greeley after his marriage.
He worked for the Greeley Fire Department as a young man, then became a photographer and founder of "In Wyoming Magazine" with Bill Bragg in the mid 60's. He later worked for many industrial and recreational companies as a photographer. Mr. Dorn attended the Lutheran Church and was a member of the American Legion in Wheatland, the American Professional Photographers Association, and the Outdoor Writers Association. He also did a photo essay of John Wayne and Sir Edmund Hillary and hunted with General Doolittle, public figures and actors. He most enjoyed spending time with his many wonderful friends.
Mr. Dorn was preceded in death by his parents and two sons. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Walker of Greely, Colo., and one granddaughter, Wendy Dorn.
