David Olan Crumpacker
David Olan Crumpacker, 90, of Milan and formerly of the Pollock area, died Sunday evening November 1, 1998 in Sullivan County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care Unit.
The son of John David and Mary Virginia (Purdy) Crumpacker was born May 10, 1908 near Pollack.
On May 1, 1940 in Kirksville He married Edith Streeter, who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter, Karen Bruch, and her husband Charles, of Lusk, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Anne Elizabeth Pfister, and her husband Rob and Kathleen Marie Jordan and her husband Dean; one grandson, David Charles Bruch; one great-granddaughter, Hannah Jane Pfister; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dandridge, an infant brother; and two sisters, Virginia Elam and Beulah Huston.
Mr. Crumpacker lived all of his life in the Pollock area where he graduated from Pollock High School, and then farmed, raising pure-bred Angus cattle most of his life.
He was a founding member of the Milan Consumer Cooperative Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the Milan MFA, a leader in the Pollock 4-H Club for many, many years, and a 50 year member of Pollock Lodge #359 AF&FM. He was a member of the Plainview Baptist Church and later the Liberty Union Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, November 7 in the Glenn E. Kent & Son Funeral Home in Milan with the Rev. Top Hopkins officiating.
Music will be congregational singing accompanied by Mary Susan Scott, organist.
Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery north of Milan.
Casket bearers will be Fred Schnelle, Eldon Pierson, Raynor Smart, David Bruch, Joe Crumpacker, and Warren Streeter.
