Esther L. Thompson Crozier
Service held
A service for Esther L. (Thompson) Crozier was held Jan. 12 at Peet Mortuary, with the Rev. Frank Blish officiating.
Minerva Watson was the organist and Joy Kaltenheuser was the soloist. Songs were "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Sweet By and By."
Burial followed at Lusk Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Gautschi, Gerald Sturman, Ronald Podolak, Jimmy Shane, Jack Showalter and Billy DesEnfants.
Mrs. Crozier, 77, a former longtime Niobrara County resident, died earlier this month in Port Angeles, Wash.
She had worked as a telephone operator in Lusk for more that 20 years, retiring as chief operator when dial phones were introduced in 1966.
A native of Alexander, Neb., she was married to Ed Thompson and they ranched in the Node area until moving to Lusk in 1945. Mr. Thompson died in 1964, and after Esther retired from the telephone company she moved to Washington.
Survivors include her second husband, M. L. Crozier of Port Angeles.
