Florence C. Croft
Former longtime Niobrara County resident Florence C. Croft, 82, died Sunday at Natrona County Memorial Hospital in Casper after a long illness.
Mrs. Croft and her husband, Willard, lived at Lance Creek for many years while Willard worked in the oil field there.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Croft cared for the sick in private homes and several hospitals, including the old Spencer Hospital in Lusk.
She attended nursing school at St. Catherine's Hospital in Omaha.
A native of Rapid City, Mrs. Croft was educated in South Dakota and attended college in that state. She taught school for a few years after her college graduation.
She married Willard Croft in 1931 in Casper, and they lived at the Salt Creek field out of Casper prior to moving to Lance Creek.
After their retirement, the Crofts moved to Glenrock, where they have been residing ever since.
Mrs. Croft was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church, the Rosary Society and the senior citizens association, all in Glenrock.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Denis of Sheridan; a brother, Philip Tierney of Elgin, ILL.; and a sister, Louise Hogan of North Platte, Neb.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, four sisters and a brother.
A rosary was recited at St. Louis church in Glenrock Tuesday night, and a mass was said at the church Wednesday morning.
Burial followed at Glenrock Cemetery.
Family members said flowers or memorials to the Blue Envelope Health Fund would be appreciated.
Arrangement were under the direction of Memorial Chapel of Casper.
