Edwin H. Brott, 21, Died Here Monday
Edwin Harry Brott, second son to Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Brott, passed away at Lusk September 11, 1939 from complications following a major operation. Edwin was 21 years, one month and 16 days of age. He had been in poor health for several months past.
Edwin Brott was born near Crawford, Nebr. , July 24, 1918, and lived with his parents in the vicinity of Crawford until he was 14 years of age, when he with his parents, moved to Wyoming and Edwin attended the Manville schools, graduating with the class of 1937.
He was of a cheerful, happy disposition. A trustworthy, loving son, a kind and helpful brother. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances and he will be greatly missed by relatives and friends. Following his graduation, he enlisted in CCC camp No. 852 where he served as company clerk the ensuring six months. After this he was employed on various ranches in that locality, being employed on the JA6 ranch until September 1 when he became ill and unable to continue and was brought to Lusk and placed under doctor's care.
He leaves to mourn his passing his father and mother, seven brothers; Judson F., Rufus P. Clifford J., Fay D., Emmett A., Roy D., Charles A., and two sisters: Shirley Marie and Violet Ann. Also numerous other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Chester V. and one sister, Ruth.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Sam Coen , assisted by Rev. Sager, at the Peet Chapel in Lusk at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday, September 13, 1939. Pall bearers were his former classmates : Wilbur and Claude Allsup, Roger Lindley, Harold Moss, Roy Cordes and Don Deilman, all of Manville . Internment was made in the Crawford, Nebraska cemetery.
