Riccardo "Richard" Eugenio Bacon
Richard Bacon 76, formerly of Lusk died March 15, 2024 at Pathways Hospice in Fort Collins, CO.
Riccardo Eugenio Bacon was born on his grandmother's kitchen table in Livorno, Italy on September 17, 1947 to Donald and Antoinetta (D'Argenzio) Bacon.
At age 2 his family relocated to St Charles, MO. He became a US citizen on September 20, 1965, graduated from St. Charles High School in 1967 and promptly enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany for 4 years. He back-packed Europe for a year with Army buddies after discharge. Returning to Missouri, he enrolled at Mizzou, later transferring to UC Santa Barbara. He graduated there with BA in archeology and geology. Most of his professional life was spent as a well-side geologist consultant and living in Colorado. He worked for Baker-Hughes for a time which brought him to Casper, WY. He returned to consulting while in Casper. He also met and married Christine Long in Lusk. He continued to reside in Lusk and Niobrara County until he was no longer able to work or care for himself.
Survivors include his wife, step-daughters Amanda (Eric) Grass of Littleton, CO and Kenna (Justin) Trujillo of Olympia, WA, siblings Victoria Bacon Callaway, Donna Bacon and Gregory Bacon all of Missouri, half-sister Pat (Dan) Stankard of Delphi, Indiana, half-brother Dean (Carola) Lowe of Houston, TX and best friend of 54 years Larry (Robin) Boucher of Centennial, CO.
Survivors include his wife, step-daughters Amanda (Eric) Grass of Littleton, CO and Kenna (Justin) Trujillo of Olympia, WA, siblings Victoria Bacon Callaway, Donna Bacon and Gregory Bacon all of Missouri, half-sister Pat (Dan) Stankard of Delphi, Indiana, half-brother Dean (Carola) Lowe of Houston, TX and best friend of 54 years Larry (Robin) Boucher of Centennial, CO.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Robin Bacon and half brother Mike Bacon.
His ashes will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO.
