Mary Anne Foreman
Mary Anne Foreman, 94, of Cheyenne died November 2, 2022 at Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne.
Mary Anne was born October 1, 1928 in Laramie, Wyoming to Floyd B. Foreman and Dorothy DeMoss Foreman. She was raised in Laramie and received a Bachelors degree in 1950 from the University of Wyoming. Soon thereafter she married James B. Griffith, Jr., in Laramie. The couple lived in Lusk, where their three daughters were born. They were involved in many community activities. During the town's Diamond Jubilee in 1961, Mary Anne joined with Joan Berry and Idy Bramlet to form the Diamond Annies. They sang together on many occasions, most notably as part of the Wyoming Medicine Man Show that represented the state at the Seattle World's Fair in 1962. Mary Anne introduced the first kindergarten classes at Lusk Elementary and taught for several years..
In 1966 the couple divorced and Mary Anne moved to the Denver area. She taught elementary school, was an educational consultant for Houghton Mifflin and was an administrative assistant for the Denver foundation. In 1984 she moved to Laguna Hills, California, where she worked as an administrative assistant for the Laguna Hills Mall before retiring and returning to Wyoming. She again lived in Lusk from 2003 to 2006 and moved to Cheyenne in 2006.
Mary Anne is survived by her daughters Sally F. Griffith of Philadelphia and Laura N. Griffith and Lynn G. Carlson of Cheyenne; sons-in-law James K. Pringle and G. Michael Carlson; grandchildren Courtney York, William G. Bennett, and James G. Pringle; great grandsons Lance York and Mason York.
Services will be held Nov. 25 at 2:00 P.M. at Highlands Presbyterian Church, 2390 Pattison Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Recover Wyoming, Davis Hospice Center, or the Highlands Presbyterian Church.
