Goes to Her Reward

Mrs. James Petty, aged 35, wife of James Petty of Pleasant Ridge, died Sunday morning, December 12, at eight o'clock, leaving a husband and three small children to morn this terrible loss. Owing to the storm it was impossible for the undertakers to leave Lusk with the casket until Wednesday morning.

The Herald extends its sympathy to the bereaved husband and children.

OBITUARY

Miss Matilda Boyles was born August 19, 1874, and died December 12, 1909. September 20, 1893, she was married to James Petty. To this union four boys were born, the eldest dying in infancy and the other three now are left with no mother to guide them; the youngest is a babe of only seven weeks. Mrs. Petty seemed unable to recover her health since the birth of this last baby, and although everything was done that loving hands could do, she could not be saved. About two years ago Mrs. Petty joined the Methodist church and always lived a consistent christian life. Besides her husband and boys she leaves a mother, five brothers and three sisters and numerous friends and relatives. This whole community extends their love and sympathy to these bereaved ones. On account of the bad weather it was impossible to get a minister to conduct funeral services, so there was a short service at the hall conducted by Mr. J.J. ZumBrunnen and the remains were laid to rest Saturday, December 18.
